Making a dinner with your kids does not have to be complicated or time consuming!  In fact there are MANY benefits to enlisting the help of your kids in the kitchen.  You will not only begin to develop their confidence in cooking (which will greatly benefit them in their adult lives!), but you will also teach them an appreciation for real, healthy ingredients, build math skills, develop their palate and have more time to bond with your little ones!

Start small by choosing one meal per week that they can safely help prepare… like this kid-friendly pizza dinner below!

Ingredients:

HOMEMADE PASTA SAUCE (1 serving)

Venice Bakery 5” pizza crust

Toppings:

Barbeque sauce

Slice bell pepper

Mushrooms

Onions

Roma tomato

Green onions

Cilantro

Black beans

Vegan smart dogs

Baked tofu

Hummus

Dairy-free cheese (Daiya  brand)

Salt-free seasonings

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F. Line baking sheet with foil and  spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Place pizza crust on baking sheet and top pizza crusts with HOMEMADE PASTA SAUCE and your favorite toppings (see above for suggestions!)
  3. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until crust is golden brown (cooking times may vary depending on oven).
