Why Seeing a Chiropractor is a Good Idea

You’ve probably heard about Doctors or Chiropractic (DCs), chiropractors, chiropractic therapy, or chiropractic treatment while watching sports news about your favorite athlete getting therapy because of an injury. It’s not uncommon since chiropractic treatment is commonly associated with sports. If you’re thinking that you don’t need it since you don’t play sports, think again. Chiropractic medicine is not isolated to the sports world; in fact, you might even have an injury that needs chiropractic attention.

Chronic pain is on the rise in the United States.  According to a recent study by the National Center of Complimentary and Integrated Health, 25 million adults suffer from pain ON A DAILY BASIS and another 40 million adults have severe pain though not daily. Can chiropractic treatment help?

Chiropractic treatment helps with muscle building.

A founding principle of chiropractic medicine is known as the adjustment. Adjustment in this case is a distinct type of manipulation of joints by using controlled direction, leverage, force, velocity, and amplitude. Adjustments can be practiced on almost all joints in the body. The goal of the adjustment is to return the body to homeostasis by restoring the normal function and condition of the joints without the use of drugs or surgery. Specific tests are administered to the patient to determine the injury, its extent, and the proper treatment or technique that must be used to correct it.

Reports indicate that there is an increasing number of people seeking chiropractic medicine to help ease headaches, neck pain, arthritis, and other muscular pain. Patients also indicate that they function better and feel energetic after undergoing chiropractic treatment. Chiropractors have undergone rigorous training and study for as much as 4 to 6 years before they can practice. Seeing a chiropractor is far less expensive than the surgery that you might need if continue to ignore your neuromuscular problems! I like that this mentioned that adjustment was a type of chiropractic technique that uses controlled direction, leverage, and more to align a body. My dad recently came home from work with an extremely sore neck. I tried to massage it, but that didn’t get rid of all the pain. I think he may be interested in reading this article. Hopefully it persuades him to the chiropractor.
